May 16: Banff – Lake Louise – Jasper What a day!

010What a day!  It was an 8 hour drive though some of the best that Mother Nature has to offer.  We were caught in a snow storm most of the morning, so if some of the pictures seem to have white dots, that’s why.  Lake Louise was still frozen (So was I.) but it was still gorgeous.  We really loved the snow.  The hotel pictured below is right on the lake and looks as if it would be a great place to stay.

The animals were everywhere:  either on the road or beside it.  It was great to see them so close.  There are signs all over about not feeding the wildlife, but someone must do it because they seem relatively tame.

I took more pictures of lovely, snow-covered mountains, much to Jerry’s impatience, but they will have to wait until tomorrow. Tonight we are staying in Hinton.

One more thing:  I take back all the snarky things I said about Alberta.  This was Colorado on steroids.025029047013014023011

Hey you two! Finally found you on google by Terrie’s directions. Charlie’s wondering why you headed North so early. Looking for the Cold-Miser? Maybe Lake Louise will be more hospitable on your return. Anyway, you’re getting
great wildlife photos! And great memories? Enjoy, enjoy! Charles and Mary Lea
