July 2: Summer time and the fishin’ is fine…

As you can see it was a chilly morning.  It was 7:06 am and we were heading for the ole’ fishing hole. As you know, “Neither rain, nor snow, nor gloom of night (what night?)shall stop these fishermen from their appointments with the salmon.”   Or something like that.005

This was Jerry’s first fish of the day, a red (sockeye) salmon.006First the fun, now the work.  I have photographed this from the back to spare the squeamish.007

Can you believe the color of this meat?  Can’t get a whole lot fresher than this!!!!!!010Jerry’s second fish of the day.011

NOW what’s he up to?  Just admiring the trooper’s truck, I guess.012Now I see.  He’s out making friends again.  The  trooper’s name tag is G. Taylor.  Could he be related to a certain J. Taylor of the Texas Taylor Clam Gun fame.  Happy looking fellow, but then again he’s not fishing.  Look at that license – just another law abiding citizen…………

Did I ever tell you my great-grandmother’s maiden name was Taylor? Those folks got around!
You folks must be feeling pretty healthy with all those fishy omega 3s going down. Congratulations!

Just found time to check up on you guys. Seems that I missed the great clam hunt, looked like a lot of work.
Have gone to the mailbox looking for my cut of the loot, maybe tomorrow! All is well with your renters, after the
small repair on your septic. Enjoyed the pictures of the hunt, Thanks Keep having fun, p.s. don’t call for bail

Glad to see that you are making so many friends in Alaska! Also, very glad to see that you are staying on the right side of the law!
