After many years of wishing to travel to Alaska, our trip of a lifetime seems to finally be on the horizon. As a retired couple from Central Texas, we plan to travel via RV up the U.S. heartland, through Canada, and on to the Alaskan Kenai Penninsula to spend the 2013 summer. We have established a travel blog and would like to communicate with others who are looking to make the trip.   We plan to leave from Kerrville, Texas, (just north of San Antonio) on approximately April 28, heading north through Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana.  We will cross into Canada at Sweet Grass, Montana and go north from there to Banff, Lake Louise, and Jasper.  From there we will take the Alaska Highway to Anchorage.   In mid-August, we will leave the Kenai Penninsula, taking the marine ferry from Whittier, Alaska to Bellingham, Washington.  Upon returning to the mainland we plan to travel down Highway 101 along the Oregon and northern California coasts to San Francisco.  Then we are on to Yosemite, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, the Petrified Forest, Ruidoso, NM, and then home by the end of September or the first of October.

We would like to dedicate this trip to Miss Ebony Pearl, our beloved travel companion for many years.  She loved to go anywhere at anytime.  She is sorely missed.Happy dog!
